Our program is owned and operated by sisters and business partners, Kim Grant and Jennifer Hawkins. With over 30 years of experience as an educator in the Field of Early Childhood Education and 9 of those years as Director of a prominent private preschool, it was a great excitement that we opened The Sunflower School in Roseville. Both Jennifer and I strive to provide you and your child the quality program that you deserve. Kim Grant – Director

Working with children has been my life’s passion & probably started when my dad built me a playhouse that was never really used as a playhouse – instead it was my school house and I was the teacher. Being a nanny through high school inspired me to pursue an education in Early Childhood Development & later to work with preschool aged children. For the past 30+ years I have worked with children from infancy through school age, have successfully directed several large private preschool programs, and have been proud to be a part of growth and development of thousands of children in Roseville. I have a heart for children and feel strongly that children benefit by being in a quality preschool program. It is my goal to provide a safe and enriching environment where children thrive and develop a love for learning and an excitement about school.

Jennifer Hawkins – Assistant Director

After working in the grocery business for 17 years I decided to quit to work with children. I had always loved working with kids, and in my off time I babysat as well as volunteered at church teaching a varying age-range of children. In 2003 I earned two AA degrees from Sierra College, a Liberal Arts AA (for teaching) and a Social Science AA. In 2005 I furthered my education by taking my 12 ECE units in order to teach preschool. I have also taken 25+ hours of child development workshops and classes through the Placer County Office of Education, as well as earned my Child Development Assistant Permit through the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Changing careers has been a dream come true, my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner!
